This work revealed the habitat of the Red-tailed Hawk as a dynamic system, succinctly expressed in the movement of the hawk through its diverse habitat consisting of forest, clearing, and edge. Rendered in sculptural form as a sinuous line of flat bar steel, A Habitat of Flight celebrated the complex structure of the Red-tailed Hawk’s mating, hunting, nesting, and flying behaviors, while providing the hawk with the perfect perch to survey the native meadow and its rich array of food.
