Tickets for @Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz go on sale June 27, and the press has taken notice!
In a great piece on KQED Arts, Cy Musiker talks with the Golden Gate National Recreation Area’s Howard Levitt about what it means to mount an exhibition that touches on powerful social and political issues in a national park. Levitt says: “National parks are places where we tell stories and reveal history . . . that’s what makes parks interesting. They’re places where people can explore their own values and judgments about things.”
Meanwhile, on SFGate, Sam Whiting predicts record-breaking attendance for the show. Don’t miss out: plan to get your tickets from Alcatraz Cruises well in advance!
SFist has also picked up the story, and beyond the Bay Area, Leigh Anne Miller has covered @Large in Art in America. For even more stories, keep an eye on our Press Coverage page.
