A Note From Cheryl: We Are With You

Dear friend,
I am writing you today to offer my very best wishes for your good health, in the hope that you are safe and secure in your home.

Now more than ever, it is important that we find sources of inspiration to fortify and nurture ourselves in our entirety. Our social media accounts are filled with stories of neighbors joined in song from across balconies-and countless other acts of mutual generosity. As always, artists can also provide us with a vital wellspring of support, through works that address our common humanity and our need for community and interconnectedness.

During this time, FOR-SITE Foundation, long dedicated to creating exhibitions around social justice, will continue to foster dialogues within our community that we hope you will find nourishing.

Our work is grounded in the belief that storytelling can illuminate both our personal histories and our collective values. To this end, we will be sharing some of our stories with you in the coming weeks, starting with a selection of artists’ interviews made during the creation of our public art projects, such as @Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz, Home Land Security, and Sanctuary.

There will also be some surprises along the way.

Stay tuned, dear friend, and know that we truly are in this together.

With fondest regards,

Cheryl Haines
Founding Executive Director, FOR-SITE Foundation
